Letters of longing

Two works from a composition of different techniques, incorporating original documents.

Particularly valuable! These compositions are based on the true fates of two loving couples. They were separated by the war. The only contact that remained was initially the field post and later the prisoner mail. Over 800 letters have been written for 6 long years. Countless lines of longing, pain and privation. But also of hope, love, memory. They drew all their strength from these letters. Unfortunately, death separated a couple forever. The joy remained with the other couple, who were able to complete their reunion with the wedding. A few years ago the son discovered an old box on the attic with these precious memories, the lovingly written letters, marked by the past. Sometimes stylishly with a fountain pen, sometimes written with a typewriter, on the crumbling of paper, sometimes on the labels of food cans. Moving documentaries full of emotions, including those of his parents, who have now passed away. The resulting total work of art is a commissioned work that the artist Christiane Krueger rarely accepts.
